We supply classic finishes in natural stone, oak, ceramics and porcelain. Our focus is on natural materials and interesting patinas or finishes.
If we work with stone we would supply floor tiles in a particular size or pattern, wall tiles in another, and a fireplace or pilasters carved out of the same material.
Using oak, we would supply normal floor boards, some parquet patterns and a staircase or doors, producing all of them to your specifications.
Our natural stone is sourced all over the world, but our focus is on limestone from France and Belgium. The oak we import is French Oak by Di Legno ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂàa Belgian company that specialises in authentic, aged parquet. www.dilegno.com
Di Legno's oak floors are of the highest quality. Their product was used for the floors at Lanvin internationally, in the Givenchy store in Paris, and at Stradivarius, Hilfiger, Diesel and Bogner in New York.
Our ceramic and porcelain tiles are imported from Spain.
Our showroom is at 86 Cecil Road in Salt River. Here you can see a range of stone floors in different finishes as well as an in situ range of Di Legno materials.
The showroom is open from 8h30am to 4h00pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 8h30 to 3h00pm and on Saturday by appointment.
Our ceramic and porcelain tiles are supplied ex warehouse, Cape Town. Custom natural stone orders will be produced in 3 to 6 weeks. Shipping and clearing increases the lead time by a further 5 to 6 weeks depending on the country of origin of the materials you've chosen. Because our stone products are custom made, there is a minimum order of about 200m2 for natural stone. The standard production lead time for Di Legno is 4 to 6 weeks, shipping is 5 to 7 weeks.
In order to quote on selected materials, we require the square meterage, plans or dimensions. A wastage factor should be taken into account for each project prior to ordering. For custom projects we prefer to work with a standard wastage factor of 12% for natural stone and 8% for timber. This allows for cuts and any minor imperfections or markings you don't like. Since the material we supply is custom made, we operate a 'no returns policy'.
Quotations are prepared based on the ruling rate of exchange applicable at the time the quotation is prepared. In the event of currency fluctuations we will prepare another quotation reflecting the currency loss or gain, as the case may be.
Ceramic tiles are supplied in boxes. They can be collected from our warehouse in Salt River, Cape Town, alternatively, delivered by us at an additional delivery cost. Natural stone tiles will be packed into wooden crates which will be delivered to your site by a crane truck. Timber is delivered in wooden pallets in a closed truck. This needs to be carried off the vehicle on site by the contractor. It is possible for the crane truck to deliver the material over a garden wall, but generally speaking, delivery is 'curb side'. Larger deliveries necessitate the use of long trucks which may not be able to drive down very narrow or steep driveways (particularly if the road surface has not been finished). In such cases alternative arrangements may need to be made - so let us know of any special conditions in advance
